You step through the door feeling dazed as you enter a forest that makes your skin prickle like its magic has gone dormant, but the sense of it still lingers. But that thought leaves your mind at the peculiar sight before you.

Confused, you watch as a man in a fine tunic walks by with a she-elf in a red gown thrown over his shoulder. They appear to be in the middle of a heated argument and don’t pay you any heed as they walk past. You cannot elp but stare after them questioningly until they disappear from sight.

Then haunting music reaches your ears that makes you want to tap your toes and shiver at the eeriness at the same time. Instead of dancing, you turn to find that you are no longer alone. Swans flap overhead as the shadows seem to stretch ominously.

But the source of the music is neither of these. Rather, it is a man with bright red hair pulled away from his face. Mischievous green eyes meet yours, and then a smirk stretches slowly across a pair of lips playing the pipes. “Hello there.”

You’re startled to hear his voice and the pipes at the same time. But your surprise only grows when the man steps around his pipes remain floating in the air and playing their tune.

The mysterious Piper bows gallantly, like he is wearing fine robes and not a tunic and breeches covered in rags. He seems to blend perfectly into the forest that looks vibrant at first glance but carries an underlying threat of danger. “I knew this was the day we would finally meet.”

Before you can ask how he could say such a thing, the Piper gestures to a large tree trunk with several portraits nailed to it. “There is a riddle here. If you can solve it, I will tell you everything. Now listen to my rhyme to understand the truth.”
